Woman Waiting to Take a Photograph

    1.   It seems to me that the time she is waiting is about two hours or so because she is waiting for the right person to be her muse and for them unknowingly to take their picture, though at the end it seems that she has taken one and it made her grow in fame so the time frame could be 5 years or even more after taking her money shot. Seems early 90s or late 2000s. Snapshot of a photographer trying to take a snapshot.

2. The text implies that photographers will do anything for a perfect shot, and will be patient in order to get it, photography in the text is giving me the idea that photographers don’t really know what their capturing or don’t really understand the meaning of the photograph only what they will gain. Writer was judging photographer and giving a description of what a photographer does.

3. The writer’s attitude towards the woman seems to be a disapproval of what she is doing, when writing looking for “the right poor person” it shows that she’s looking for someone who is incapable of having a nice life, and downgrading the person even more, she’s using the person’s sad life to captivate and enrich her own. She’s essentially using that right person to get her to become the opposite of them. Exploiting them. The tone seems to be judgmental and unhappy with the woman. Knows more about her, implies that he’s familiar with her and may be in the same class as her. Her car being a hand down even though it’s only 4 years old shows that she’s privileged. She not respecting the area that she’s in.

4. Repeating the term “Go-Getter’s” the writer is emphasizing that the people who shop there is anything but and repeatedly reminding the reader that. Also it’s a term that describes the woman she’s waiting for the shot and is willing get it, she has a goal and she’s doing what’s necessary to get it. It perfectly describes the woman while it’s the opposite for the customers. Showing the irony between them.

5. In the final sentence, the writer is making a joke of what she could get. The tone of this sentence shows she’s creating a distance of what she’s actually taking a shot of, like taking a picture of animals. 

 6. The writer is mocking and judging the woman he’s describing, but he himself is doing the same thing. He’s observing this women exploiting people in an unfortunate situation and exploiting her to create this story.
